Singapore's historic Victoria Theater and Memorial Hall first began as a Town Hall in 1862. In 1901 a second public concert hall was built next to it joined by a clock tower in memory of Queen Victoria who died that year. The building was used as a hospital for bombing victims during World War 2. It is now a national monument.
