The Armstrong Bros. Tool Co. of Chicago havetheir planer tools in use in most railroad shops. Thesingle tools are really adjustable holders of highspeed steel cutters available both for convenience andeconomy. Figures 6 and 8 show the constructionand operation of the gang or multiple planer tool. Itmight to some appear self-evident that a gain wouldbe made by using a gang tool such as the Armstrong
