With an unprecedented shortage of stock that would be felt under normal conditions, it is difficult to take care of orders that pile up daily. The retailers manage, by economy, ingenuity and rare good luck, to get by, wondering at the close of each day how they did it and how they will manage the next. It is a trying time for wholesalers when florists in all parts of the country are writing, wiring, calling by long dis- tance telephone for flowers at any price. to have to turn them down for want oi stock.
