Dr. Horace White, son of Benjaminand Betsey (Wilder) White, was born inBethlehem, New Hampshire, in attendance at the schools of hisnative town, he pursued a course of studyin medicine, received his degree of Doctorof Medicine from Dartmouth College, andpracticed his profession successfully, firstin Colebrook, New Hampshire, where heresided until 1837, then in Beloit, Wiscon-sin, whither he removed, and where hisdeath occurred in the year 1843, at theearly age of thirty-three years, in thevery prime of manhood. He was welland favorably known among his profes-sional brethren, and was an active, public-spirited citizen.
