Blue sky view, looking south to centre L'Esterre Bay, two brown calves walking into sea, Paradise Beach, Carriacou, West Indies

At 34 square kilometres (13 square miles) and 16 mile long, Carriacou is the largest island of the Grenadines. The climate is tropical and the hilly terrain slopes to white beaches. There are no rivers and local residents rely on rainwater for their water supply. Paradise Beach, visible here around the waters of L'Esterre Bay, is one of several beautiful beaches on the island, which is part of Grenada. Boat-building, fishing and sea-faring feature in the local economy. A shot of two calves walking into the sea to have a drink.
