The heads grow to a large size, and, as its name signifies, are deeper through than ordinary stocks of second early cabbages. This new Cabbage, of which we offer the best Long Island seed grown from headquarters' stock, Is described by the intro- ducers as follows: "The Succession we regard as the most valuable variety that has been introduced since the Early Svmmer. The Succession is about one week later than the Early Summer, but is double the size, and is so finely bred that in a field of ten acres every head was a magnificent, perfect specimen, fit for exhi- bition purposes. Despite the low prices realized by the Cabbage crop last season, the Succession brought pay- ing prices wherever grown, and may well be regarded as a boon to the gardening community.
