So in the midst of tumultuous applause andhilarity the mug decorated by Mr. William FairKline was the first mug to pass the thousand-dollar milestone at a Salmagundian Library din-ner. The total of the evening sale was fourteenhundred and seventy-seven dollars. Since the first mug-dinner the library has hadmoney to spend.
