The flowers are borne profusely on long stems and present a charming appearance when the plants are in full bloom. Should be sown in spring, in the open ground, w-hen danger of frost IS past, or the seed may be started under cover and afterwards transplanted. It is of the easiest culture, planted about 18 inches apart in rows or in masses in beds. When the plants are about a foot high, the lops should be pinched out to induce a bushy growth, and this should be continued until the middle of July, when they should have formed nice bushy plants 3 feet high by the same in diameter. They produce, from September until cut down by frost, thousands of beautiful flowers in pure white, pink, and crim- son shades, furnishing an abundance of cut blooms for autumn decoration when other flowers are scarce.
