( x cm), Prints, Asher Brown Durand (American, Jefferson, New Jersey 1796–1886 Maplewood, New Jersey), After Chester (Charles) Harding (American, Conway, Massachusetts 1792–1866 Boston, Massachusetts), Durand portrays a leading figure from Maryland who supported independence from Britain during the colonial period, served as a delegate to the Continental Congress, and then as a senator. The only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence, he was the longest-lived, dying in 1832 at the age of ninety-five
