Enid Blyton (11 August 1897 – 28 November 1968) was a prolific author of children's books including the Noddy stories and the Secret Seven and the Famouse Five series. She wrote about 800 books and sold over 600 million copies worldwide. She was born in East Dulwich and for a while taught at Bickley Park School. She lived in this house in Shortlands during the 1920s, which she named 'Elfin Cottage'.
