Hair stuffing, Hampton's Munitions Works, Lambeth, London, 1914-1918. Artist: Bedford Lemere and Company

Hair stuffing, Hampton's Munitions Works, Lambeth, London, 1914-1918. The factory was adapted during WWI to supply the war effort with supplies. In peacetime this room was used to prepare hair for stuffing furniture and cushions, here the hair is being bagged and will probably be used for mattresses in military hospitals and installations.
