In splendid isolation the Mavora Lakes mirror the Livingstone Mountains in the Southern Alpes in New Zealand. Along the shores parts of the movie "Lord of the Rings" were produced. In der Einsamkeit der Südalpen spiegeln die Mavora-Seen die Livingstone-Berge Neuseelands wider. An ihren Ufern wurden einige Szenen des Kinofilms "Herr der Ringe" gedreht.
