Mitchell Sieglock, commander of the 96th Aviation Troop Command, presents Chief Warrant Officer 3 Ryan Schwend, a CH-47 Chinook helicopter pilot with 1st Battalion, 168th General Support Aviation, with the Army Aviation's Broken Wing Award in a ceremony held at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, June 18, 2022. Schwend and the rest of his crew successfully landed their catastrophically damaged Chinook during a mission in Afghanistan in 2020.
