Hyphaema. View of the eye of a patient suffering from hyphaema, bleeding into the anterior (front) chamber of the eye following an injury. Hyphaema often results from sports accidents, such as the impact of a cricket or squash ball. Vision becomes blurred while the blood and the aqueous humour (fluid inside the front chamber of the eye) are mixed, but it clears after the blood has settled (as here). The blood disappears within a few days.
