Coast Guard Commandant sworn in for third term. Vice Admiral R. R. Waesche, commandant of the United States Coast Guard, is being sworn in for his third four year term by Secretary of the Navy James V. Forrestal. Shown with Secretary Forrestal and Admiral Waesche is Comdr. Morton C. Mumma, Jr., aide to the Secretary. Admiral Waesche became commandant of the Coast Guard June 14, 1936. The ceremony, which was attended by high ranking officers of the Navy Department and Coast Guard, was held in Secretary Forrestal's office.
