South portal of the church of Convent of the Order of Christ in Tomar, Portugal.
Manueline in style, designed in 1515 by João de Castilho (died in 1552). Its iconographic program, showing the concord between the Old and the New Testament, is dominated by the Virgin with the infant Jesus, flanked on the left by St. Jerome and St. Augustine, and on the right by St. Gregory and St. Ambrose. One Sybil, King Solomon and four Prophets are represented below.
