Insects flock to an unprecedented number of "side blooms" on saguaro cactus during May, their typical Spring flowering season, Sonoran Desert, Tucson, Arizona, USA. The large number of blooms may indicate stress possibly due to the lack of rain during drought. The blooms change in to red fruit which carry seeds.
