Victorian gasometer with ornate cast iron columns situated in Hendon, Sunderland, north east England UK

There were three gasometers on this site at the time that the photo was taken in 2014. This appears to be the oldest with ornate cast iron columns and I would expect that it dates back to the mid 1800s. It appears that the tank was no longer in use when the photo was taken.
