The average power output per car mileranges approximately from 2 kw. hours per car mile insummer to kw. hours in winter, the latter figure in-cluding electric heating of cars, and both including light-ing, air compressors for brakes, station lighting, switchesin yards and power for fan and auxiliary motors. The South Side and Metropolitan West Side ElevatedRailway stations., the Hobbie Street station of the UnionTraction Company, the Calumet and South Chicago Citystations are the only ones in the city which are operating-condensing, though the new Northwestern station will,when completed, be run as a condensing station.
