Carnival in Cologne (Germany), also known as "the fifth season of the year", is one of the biggest street festivals in Europe. The carnival is considered to be a tradition as old as the city itself. During the carnival "crazy days" the city of Cologne explodes with celebrations, parades, fireworks, colours, and music and there are more than one million spectators on the streets. The closing times for pubs and bars are suspended and the whole city is living a party.
