Heavy snow falls in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir, on 4th January 2019. Heavy snowing started in the afternoon in Srinagar and within half an hour the city was covered by a white blanket of snow disrupting normal life and making it difficult to move around in different parts of the city. The heavy snowfall also affected several plain and hilly areas of the Kashmir valley and disrupted air and road traffic with the cancellation of several flights at the Srinagar Airport as well as the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway
