Eroded sedimentary rock. Eroded outcrop of sediments, marls and calcarenites, illustrating the differential nature of erosion. The beds in this sedimentary sequence have variable hardness, and are thus eroded at different rates. The variations in hardness can be explained by differences in composition and make-up of the rocks. Photographed on the north-western coast of Cyprus.
