The velocity of the flue gases wascontrolled by means of the air aspirator used to create the the best performance a rise of about 30 deg. C. was used. At thisrate about twenty cycles of the instrument an hour were convenience, a small lamp bulb of 25 watts was shunted acrossthe heating coil to indicate when the instrument was operating cor-rect! v. 14 ILLINOIS ENGINEERING EXPERIMENT STATION.
