The current Hunting Island Lighthouse, on Hunting Island off the coast of South Carolina was built in 1875, replacing the original built in 1859. It is situated in a South Carolina State Park and is open to the public. The lighthouse was built in cast-iron sections so it could be disassembled if it needed to be moved.
