Philosophical Transactions, volume 1. Title page for volume 1 (1665-6) of 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London'. The first issue of this journal, one of the oldest and longest-running scientific journals, was published on 6 March 1665. It was edited by the society's first secretary Henry Oldenburg. The first volume covered the years 1665 and 1666.
