Type locality, Mazatlan, State of Sinaloa, Mexico. Diagnosis: Pale "lavender" grey dorsally, forehead usually whitish, washed with pale-grey or buff: wing and tail shorter than in the birds of the Gulf coastal lowlands of Mexico. Range: Pacific coastal areas of Mexico from Mazatlan, Sinaloa, south at least to the Rio Papagallo, Guerrero (see Figure)..
