Themuscles are gcnth but continuously contracted, particu-larly those about the forehead, at the root of the nose,and about the mouth, giving to the patient a peculiarkind of troubled or anxious expression. It is often no-ticed by the friends at a very early stage of the disease,and they will tell you that the patient does not look nat-ural, that his countenance has a strained, intense look,quite different from his normal expression, but still verydifficult to describe.
