Fillings and crowns without contact points, orfillings with bad gingival margins, or crowns which do not fit well at thecervix or penetrate beneath the gum margin into the peridental membrane, are sometimes the causative factors in chronic pericementitis. Thesethings may be detected usually without the aid of the radiograph. Often, however, a radiograph will demonstrate the fault in a very convincingmanner. THE USES OF THE RADIOGRAPH IN DENTISTRY 185 Figs. 185 and 186 demonstrate lesions that might be responsible for chronic pericementitis, which couldTigs. 185 and 1S6. t v j * * j *. *u .1 .1 r not be detected by any means other than the use of the Fig. 187.
