A Japanese floor vase, 19th century. Patinated bronze cast in several pieces. Three-dimensionally worked lid displaying a Phoenix and a dragon. Ornamented bellied corpus sectioned into four fields bearing plants and birds in relief. Inserted handles shaped as dragons on each side (one leg of a dragon broken but included). Tall, detachable base in relief with surrounding depictions of dragons with fully plastic heads (one head included but loose, one fixed with screws).
