The fact is, not only are the people getting richer and hence having more money to spend on lux-uries, but the standard of taste is being raised and choice and more delicately flavored candies are beingdemanded annually. Mr. A. E. Payne, of No. 142 East Main street, has built up a very large and de-sirable trade during the comparatively short time that he has conducted his present establishment, andthis success is the natural consequence of his recognizing the facts to which we have referred.
