Kalapana Black Sand Beach at Kaimu Bay located in the Puna Hawaii
In 1992 the shoreline of the famous and former beautiful coconut grove Kalapana Black Sand Beach at Kaimu Bay located in the Puna district of the Big Island of Hawaii was engulfed by the ongoing eruption of Kilauea's lava flow. Now a new shoreline and black sand beach has emerged from the original coast of Kaimu Bay.
