MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicle (drone). This drone is used primarily by the US Air Force and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Developed in the 1990s for reconnaissance and observation, the Predator carries cameras and other sensors. It has also been modified to fire two Hellfire missiles or other munitions and has been used in combat in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and other regions. It is built by General Atomics. This vehicle, assigned to the California Air National Guard's 163rd Reconnaissance Wing, was photographed on 7th January 2012.
