EARLIEST OF ALL, 58 A standard white-spined pickling variety widely grown in the South. ] 1 I Model : well named for its shape, color and brining qualities MODEL, 55 A distinctive variety developed at our Eastern breeding station. Of similar shape and size to National Association Pickling but white-spined and of darker green exterior color. Retains its firmness throughout the brining process. Trim in appearance and uniform. Adapted to the South. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION PICKLING, 58 A popular variety developed at the Michigan Agricultural College in col- laboration with the National Pickle Packers' Association. Fruits medium green, symmetrical and full ended. OHIO MR 17, 57 Highly, though not fully, resistant to mosaic, making good crops possible where mosaic is prevalent. Fruits longer and somewhat darker than those of National Association. Firm in processing. OHIO MR 25, 56 A new introduction from the Ohio Experiment Station with a larger vine than Ohio MR 17, more resistant to mosaic. Fruits somewhat shorter and more blocky. PACKER, <£y») 58 Bred at our Pacific Coast breeding station to provide a pickling cucumber of National Association type but somewhat blockier in shape and more uniformly dark green in color. High yielding and gives a very attractive pack.
