Seed is also available of leading shipping and canning varieties, certified as to purity and freedom from disease by various State Departments of Agriculture. The number of days indicated represents the time required from setting of plants to produce marketable fruits. It takes 4-5 weeks to produce plants for field setting. Days BONNY BEST 73 Standard second early variety for canners. Vine medium, not very hardy. Fruits slightly flattened, globe shape, of medium size; smooth, solid, bright scarlet in color, of excellent quality. CARDINAL « 78 An Asgrow introduction bred to provide an earlier Improved Stone type in the main crop class. Strong dark green, very prolific vines which retain their foliage through a long bearing season.
