Giant Wood Ferns Dryopteris, Hollis, New Hampshire. Grows in damp woods, shaded stream banks and talus is humus rich and circumneutral.


This type of fern grows naturally all over northern New England. Bright green with large branches or leaves they grow in damp soil and shady spots and often grow near the roadside.
