Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales, UK. 1st March, 2014. Three young students from China wear dragons hats as they watch the parade. Thousands flock to Cardiff to watch the colourful St. David’s Day parade - Dydd Gŵyl Dewi. The annual event is held historically on the feast day, 1st of March, in remembrance of the death of St. David (Dewi Sant) the patron saint of Wales. Tradition holds that he died on that day in 569 AD. Daffodils, a Welsh symbol or the leek, St. David’s personal symbol, are worn by patriots. Credit: Graham M. Lawrence/Alamy Live News.
