Idiot. Historical artwork of an \idiot\" standing with a woman. He is Thomas Fraser of Edinburgh, Scotland, who was very fond of dew-whisky and died in 1789. An idiot is a now obsolete term used to describe a severely retarded person with an IQ (intelligence quotient) of less than 20. Idiots were not deemed capable of looking after themselves and so were often institutionalized. This is an artwork by Kay from 1784."
