At the end of May 2008 many rivers and torrents in the valleys near Turin (Piemonte) flooded some villages in Val Chisone, Val Pellice, Val Germanasca (4 dead caused by a landslide) and in Alta Valle di Susa. The river Po increased its capacity around 3 meters. In Turin the nightlife zone called Murazzi, near the historic city center, were flooded and closed.
