Greenan Castle, Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland UK. Perched upon the top of a sea cliff, Greenan Castle occupies a site that has been fortified for thousands of years. Originally a promontory fort, it was converted into a motte-and-bailey in the twelfth century. In the fifteenth century a Tower House was built by the Lords of the Isles which later passed into the hands of the Kennedy Castle is a 16th-century ruined tower house, around miles south-west of Ayr in South Ayrshire, Scotland. The castle which sits precariously on the cliifs have been linked to the legend of King Arthur


A few years ago historians though it may also had been the seat of King Arthur & the knoghts of the round table, with the Isle of Arran across the Firth of Clyde being the Kingdom of Avalon
