The aspectof the limestone escarpments which crown the lowerranges, the bright colours of the red and purple shalesand sandstones which occupy the hollows, the deepgorge and radiating streams of the Tessaout, and thesnowy table-topped masses which dominate all, makeup a scene of the utmost impressiveness.
