MEDITERRANEAN SEA (April 23, 2017) Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) 2nd Class Raphael Hernandez starts a gas turbine engine from the propulsion and auxiliary control unit aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71). Ross is forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe and Africa.
