Struck on a thick planchet; only traces of milling are discernable on theobverse, and but little on reverse. Edge plain; diameter 29 millimeters. Several pairs of dies were used in this year, both with thick and thinplanchets, but the above form the principal varieties. The Cents of 1795 struck on thick planchets are rarely found in fine or uncirculated condi-tion; the thin planchets are more common. The Jefferson Head is scarce in any state of preser-vation.
