Royal Air Force 1939-1945- Coastal Command The only crew in Coastal Command to sink two U-boats in one sortie was that of Flying Officer Kenneth Owen Moore, a Canadian serving with No 224 Squadron. 'Kayo' Moore, seen here on the right with his bomb aimer Warrant Officer Johnston 'Jock' McDowell, achieved this dramatic feat on the night of 7/8 June 1944, when flying a 'Cork' patrol over the Western end of the Channel.
