In removing an intraligamentary tumor of one side, it is important to bearin mind that its blood supply continues to be derived from the same channelsfrom which it came while the tumor was still small—that is to say, the ovarianand the terminal branches of the uterine vessels; and if these are patientlysought out and secured at once, there need be but little hemorrhage throughoutthe operation. If the tumor is cystic and is made up of one or two larger cysts, theevacuation of the fluid will give the operator more room for hismanipulations and the collapsed sac can be pulled on with greater advantage indrawing the tumor shelling out intralig-amentary tumors it isbest to avoid using thenaked fingers, using intheir stead a firm spongeon a hand
