BURPEE'S WHITE GEM WATERMELON. BURPEE'S WHITE GEM. The vines are of very luxuriant t;ro\vth and enormously productive. Our crops have been the admiration of many visitors, who remarked that they never saw watermelons so white and handsome, or so thirkfi/ covering the ground. The melons are perfectly round in shape, of good average size for family use, weighing tifteen to twenty pounds each, of a beautiful cream-white color when ripe, only faintly striped with very light-gjreen niark- M-r-i^ longitudinally. The skin is so tough I VAWj that a melon fully ripe will support a man \lfj'-// without even cracking the flesh—this, not- ^ withstanding that the rind is only a scant half-inch in thickness. In a cut melon the beautiful flesh seems almost to touch the skin. The flesh is a rich, bright pink, crisp, melting, very juicy, and deli- ciously sweet in flavor. Several good judges of melons, who have tested it at our farm, pronounced it sweeter even than the Hungarian Honey, which has been con- sidered the acme of perfection. Per pkt. 10 cts.; oz. 15 cts.; 14 ft 35 cts.; per lb SEMINOLE. It is extra early, enormously productive, extra large, and of delicious flavor. It is of two dis- tinct colors, gray and light green. The gray color pre- dominates; both colors are found on the same vine. Per pkt. 5 cts.; oz. 10 cts.; % ft 25 cts.; per ft 70 cts. ICE CREAM, or Peerless {True ^Vhite-Seeded). Flavor always good; sweet and delicious ; flesh solid and of rich scarlet color; seeds always white. The form is o-blong, the is quite thin, and dark green in color.
