MAGIC is a Cherenkov Telescope detecting gamma rays by the Cherenkov radiation of the particle showers started by gamma rays. It works at the rim of the Caldera de Taburiente on La Palma in the Canary more than 2300 m it is high above trade wind clouding and works normally under a very clear sky. MAGIC ist ein Tscherenkow-Teleskop auf dem Kraterrand der Caldera de Taburiente auf La Palma. Es misst die Tscherenkow-Strahlung, die von Teilchenschauern ausgelöst werden, die wiederum von kosmischen Gammastrahlen-Ausbrüchen losgetreten werden.
