Thebuilding is one of the most magnificent exhibits of architecture in A TOUR OF THE CITY. 91 the city. It has a frontage of 190 feet on La Salle Street, and isninety-six feet deep. The building cost $1,100,000, and theground site has an equal valuation. The first two stories arefaced with rich red granite; the remaining stories with red brick.
