Col. William Davis, New Hampshire Air National Guard director of staff, addresses fourth graders from St. John Regional School during a graveside wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate President Franklin Pierce’s 218th birthday Nov. 22, 2022, at Old North Cemetery in Concord, New Hampshire. The New Hampshire National Guard performs services annually with Pierce Brigade volunteers. Pierce is the only New Hampshire resident to be elected president of the United States, holding office from 1853 – 1857.
