A spot of shade from a mimosa tree on an ancient wall in the hot sun, Harireh ruins, Kish Island, Iran

The ruins of the 8th century town of Harireh can be seen near the Green Tree (Derakh-e-Sabz complex on Kish Island, which in the past was a hub of exchange between China, Europe and northern Africa. It was built of sandstone and plaster, and may have been destroyed in an earthquake long ago. On a hot day, mimosa trees cast some shade over the ancient stones.
