UNITED STATES:Feb. 22, 2018: A Leesburg veteran surrendered two AR-15s today to the Leesburg Police Department. Here LPD officers removed the guns from the home, two AR-15's with about 3000 rounds of ammunition, two dozen high capacity magazines and other assault rifle accessories. The guns will be destroyed and not put back into circulation. When asked why they had chosen to surrender the weapons, they said that after seeing videos during the Florida school shooting of students stepping over their teachers and classmatesí bodies as they evacuated was enough. "I'm a former veteran and these guns are fun to shoot, but I don't want to be part of this anymore. No one needs this type of gun. Their only purpose is to kill people.î (Photo by Douglas Graham/Loudoun Now)
